Lake —

Although there are no lakes around Altadore, the Elbow River lies south of the neighborhood and gently runs along its eastern border. The neighborhood borders Sandy Beach Park and River Park. Both parks are favorite spots for families to head out to enjoy the cool waters of the Elbow River and engage in a variety of outdoor activities. Glenmore reservoir lies south of the neighborhood with a picturesque trail that mountain bikers and hikers enjoy.

Golf —

Altadore’s Golf lovers have the luxury of choosing from several golf courses around the neighborhood.

Calgary Golf and Country Club is a private golf club a mere nine minutes away from the community. With breathtaking grounds and views, excellent greens, and accommodating staff, Calgary Golf and Country Club is one of the community’s favorite golf courses.

Lakeview Golf Course is a tree-lined nine-hole public golf course along the Glenmore Reservoir and only a four-minute drive from Altadore. It’s a fantastic course for both beginners and seasoned players alike. The course also has a clubhouse with a snack bar and also offers basic golf supplies.

Earl Grey Golf Club on 20 Street SW is one of Calgary's most sought-after private golf courses. Located near the Glenmore reservoir, the club offers its members spectacular golf and social experiences and world-class facilities.

Parks —

Parks and wide-open spaces around Altadore offer residents access to biking and walking paths, skating, bird watching, athletics, and picnics. As well as large parks like Sandy Beach Park and River Park, the neighborhood has access to several Elbow River pathways. Several smaller parks are designed for toddlers and young children. These include Flanders Park on Garrison Blvd SW, 17 St SW Playground, Passchendaele Park on Passchendaele Rd SW, and Somme Ave SW Playground.

Sandy Beach Park is a 33-hectare park along the Elbow River with picnic spots, playgrounds, and dog parks.

River Park is a 52-acre park, a short walk to the community's east. The park is filled with native trees and offers spectacular views of the Elbow River. Plus, it’s a gorgeous area for a walk with your dogs off their leashes.
