Forest Lawn Natural Playground at 10 Avenue and 43rd Street SE is a unique nature-inspired park. It has a basketball court, hills and message boards that the community can post information for other community members on. Elliston Park, located south of 17th/International Avenue and east of 68th Street, is envisioned as an inclusive playground where children and people of all abilities and needs can come together. One of the major highlights of living in Forest Lawn or the neighbouring community of Applewood Park is their proximity to Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, a scenic wildlife reserve and a top Calgary attraction. Fitness —
Forest Lawn has two recreational pools. The Bob Bahan Aquatic and Fitness Centre, first established in 1974, offers registered and drop-in fitness classes and programs. Land and pool activities are available. You can also enjoy a swim at the Forest Lawn Outdoor Pool, which is operated by the community association.
Critical Movement Coaching, a yoga, rehabilitation and physical therapy centre, is about a 15-minute drive. The women-owned and operated business offers virtual consultation and classes.
Shopping —
International Avenue, Calgary's prime culinary and cultural hub, is a short drive. It's a great place for shopping, nightlife, recreation or relaxation. Apart from a variety of shops, restaurants and businesses, International Avenue is a foodie's paradise thanks to its many restaurants serving diverse cuisines spanning the globe and frequent food tours.
