Newtonbrook Real Estate Overview

Surrounding communities might be of interest as well:

Early settlements in the neighbourhood of Newtonbrook took place in the 1800s. During this period, the area was dotted by saw and grist mills, operating on either bank of the Don River. The neighbourhood was a hard-working community, and the Newton Brook Wesleyan Church was its spiritual centre, named after Reverend Robert Newton.

When the neighbourhood underwent subdivision for large scale residential development during the 1950s, most of the landmarks of the former village were demolished. The two exceptions are the Newtonbrook Schoolhouse (built during 1878), situated at 43 Drewry Avenue and the Newtonbrook General Store (built during 1907) located on the north-west edge of Drewry Avenue and Yonge Street.

Today, Newtonbrook is a culturally diverse community, exuding a beautiful balance of old-school and contemporary. Toronto officially segregates this neighbourhood into two parts; West Newtonbrook spans from Yonge to Bathurst, while East Newtonbrook includes everything East of Yonge. It's pretty close to nature and has a charming character that attracts people from all over Canada and the world.
