There are two business centres in Silver Springs, one at the western end of the main thoroughfare, Silver Springs Boulevard, and the other immediately north of the gully. The latter has a pub that is now known as the Silver Point, although it is best known by locals as Suds 'n' Spuds.

The Botanical Gardens of Silver Springs (BGSS) in Calgary, Alberta, is a true treasure – a one-of-a-kind landscape!

The BGSS is accessible to the public from daybreak to twilight year-round and is located within a multi-use zone that began as a Birthplace Forest and now spans several acres of property. There are approximately fourteen gardens in this area, each with its unique qualities. These garden areas are connected by mulched walking routes that run the length of the property. Beautiful floral shrubs and a variety of trees line the pathways leading to the gardens. The gardens show what can grow and thrive in Calgary's northwest.

The Silver Springs Community Association is the administrative body for the Silver Springs community garden or 'Edible Garden Group.' The leasing of a garden unit is levied at a minimal annual fee, which is subsequently used to offset the garden's operational costs. An agreement that must be written when leasing a garden box is a perpetual contract, therefore annual extension does not necessitate the signing of a new agreement. It is necessary to be a member of the Silver Springs Community Association.
