Wildwood is a well-established neighbourhood in Calgary's southwest quadrant. It’s one of the older communities in the area and has been around much longer than some of the newer ones such as West Springs. It’s situated on the top of the Bow River bluff and provides spectacular views to residents from anywhere in the neighbourhood.
Edworthy Park, an important natural park in Calgary, and the Bow River border it to the north. On the eastern end, it is bordered by the Spruce Cliff neighbourhood at 38th Avenue SW, and on the south side, it is bordered by Bow Trai. The location is perfect for families who need easy access to the city but who also enjoy exploring the great outdoors.
Wildwood is a small inner-city community located about 5 kilometres west of the downtown area. The majority of the residences are post-war bungalows, with some later construction mixed in. Many of these older homes have been refurbished or completely redeveloped since their construction in the 1950s.
Because of its magnificent views of the Bow River Valley and the Canadian Rockies, the Wildwood community has remained a popular spot to live. The neighbourhood remains a highly attractive place to live because of the amenities and services available in the vicinity.

Mountains and parks —
Wildwood is based on the plateau of the Bow River Valley and also offers unmatched views of the Canadian Rockies. Edworthy Park is also only a short walk away and can be easily accessed from anywhere in the neighbourhood.
The residents of the community can enjoy a simple walk along one of its tree-lined streets or spend time at Edworthy Park. Outdoor and adventure enthusiasts can also benefit from the easy access to all areas of the Rockies.
Banff National Park has over 1,000 kilometres of great hiking and biking trails, providing a plethora of leisure opportunities. It has several facilities such as ski-resorts, golf courses, fly-fishing rivers and lakes, and hiking and cross-country ski trails within a 1-hour driving radius.
You can also enjoy the other locations in the Canadian Rockies including Jasper, Lake Louise, and the Kananaskis ski glacier. Most areas of the Rockies are open to visitors throughout the year and you can enjoy the various adventure activities offered at each location including skiing, trekking, and camping.
If you are not an adventurer but still want to enjoy nature, you can choose to spend time at Edworthy Park and take a walk through the magnificent Douglas Fir trail or the historic Lawrey Garden. The Park has many beautiful hiking trails. It also has off-leash areas where your pet can run and play freely.

Wildwood was first settled in 1883 and developed by the city in the 1950’s. Wildwood is situated on a plateau overlooking the Bow River. It is also next to the Edworthy Park that was named after Edworthy, one of Calgary's first residents.
Wildwood had a population of 2,598 people living in 1,056 homes in the 2012 municipal census, increasing 0.6% from its 2011 population of 2,582
