Located on the western outskirts, bordering the Tsuu T'ina first nation reserve to the west and Fish Creek Provincial Park to the south. Anderson Road runs through it to the north while 24th Street West runs through it to the east.

Fish Creek Park is a provincial park in Calgary's south end that protects the Fish Creek Valley. Much of the park is still wooded and wild. Fish Creek runs through the entire length of the park and connects to the Bow River on the east side. It also has a lake where you can enjoy swimming. Hiking, bicycling, picnics, swimming, fishing and photography, are all popular activities in the park.

While you can experience the beautiful outdoors and indulge in many activities that the Fish Creek area offers, you can also engage in sports such as tennis, baseball, soccer and skating.

While Woodbine doesn’t have any lakes of its own, residents can access the amenities available at Fish Creek Provincial Park and Sikome Lake.

Fish Creek Park has more than 100 kilometres (62 miles) of hiking, walking, and bike trails, including more than 60 kilometres (37 miles) of paved pathways. The Trans Canada Trail runs through the park along the Bow River, and these paths connect the park to Calgary's extensive walking path system.

A visitor centre, picnic shelters, group day-use areas, an environmental learning centre, concession stands, a restaurant, a Bow River boat launch, the Sikome Lake Aquatic Centre and the Mackenzie Meadows Golf Course are among the park's amenities.

The Woodbine residential area was established in the year 1980 and housing development followed shortly after.

The Woodcreek Community Association was established in 1976 with only Woodlands as part of it. Woodbine was later incorporated into the Community Association on October 19th, 1992.

Woodbine had a population of 9,131 people living in 3,371 homes in the 2012 municipal census, up 0.5% from its 2011 population of 9,086.

Immigrants made up 21.8% of the population in 2000. The majority of the structures were single-family detached residences, with only 9.4% of the housing being rented. The remaining majority of houses are all occupied by their owners.

The community's median age is 44.1, with three persons per census family on average and a near-equal gender ratio of 50% male and female.

14% of Woodbine residents are over the age of 65, compared to 10% for the rest of Calgary.
