Although there are no lakes around Altadore, the Elbow River lies south of the neighborhood and gently runs along its eastern border. The neighborhood borders Sandy Beach Park and River Park. Both parks are favorite spots for families to head out to enjoy the cool waters of the Elbow River and engage in a variety of outdoor activities. Glenmore reservoir lies south of the neighborhood with a picturesque trail that mountain bikers and hikers enjoy.
