Lakes —

Lake Chaparral is a 32-acre artificial lake with pristine waters around which the community of Chaparral is built. Residents of Lake Chaparral and their guests enjoy the exclusive use all year round for fishing, boating, swimming, kayaking, scuba diving, canoeing, ice fishing, ice hockey, and skiing.

There is good news for those living in Chaparral Ridge and Chaparral Valley, for residents who don’t have access to Chaparral lake. Fish Creek Provincial Park is just around the corner (about a 15-minute drive), with a lake open to everyone.

Golf —

Blue Devil Golf Club – one of the best golf courses in Calgary, is located in Chaparral Valley, on 194 Avenue SE. This is an 18-hole golf course unless you prefer a shorter course like their 9-hole course. A driving range and a clubhouse are also a part of the facilities.

Parks —

If you live in the Lake Chaparral subdivision area, you and your guests have exclusive access to the 22-acre Chaparral Lake Park. The park is fitted with amenities for the whole family, including a playground, three tennis courts, a basketball court, a volleyball court, and a multi-use pad. Plus, the park boasts of two gorgeous waterfalls and a beach.

Those living in Chaparral Ridge and Chaparral Valley have access to many other parks, including Chapala Park with a playground, a basketball court, a ball diamond, a multi-use pad, and three sports fields.

Chaparral Crescent SE Park and Chaparral Way SE Playground both have playgrounds for younger children.

Chaparral also has its hiking area within the city limits, on Chaparral Ravine View SE.

The Chaparral community is very self-sufficient and has its own convenience stores, cafes, and gas station.

Residents of Chaparral can find everything they need in the Shawnessy Towne Centre on Shawville Boulevard SE, just west of MacLeod Trail. This massive shopping centre comprises over 250 stores and includes restaurants, apparel, hardware, gifts, health and pharmaceuticals, department stores, toys, furniture, theatres, pet stores, and various services.
