Christie Park, usually called Christie, was annexed from the Municipal District of Rocky View to the City of Calgary in 1956. Christie Park was founded as a community in 1990.

Christie, as well as the neighbouring communities of Strathcona Park and Aspen Woods, are served by the SCA Community Association. Residents can participate in a variety of activities such as scouts, fitness classes, martial arts, bridge, and art, among others.
