The neighbourhood’s history dates back to the 1840s when English reformer Robert John Turner founded the settlement of Bracondale village. Bracondale village was added to the city of Toronto in 1909 and later demolished to make way for Hillcrest Park which comprises of the neighbourhood of Hillcrest and Humewood.
