Ogden was established in 1912, named after I.G. Ogden, the former V.P. for the Canadian Pacific Railway and includes the districts of Lynnwood and Millican Estates. Deerfoot Trail and the Bow River bound the community to the west and the Ogden Shops (industrial centre) to the north and east. Ogden / Lynnwood is Calgary's oldest residential real estate district. With the construction of the Ogden Shops in 1912-1913 the area gained the distinction of being the only Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) repair shop between Winnipeg and Vancouver. Due to its long history a number of vintage houses comprise the real estate in this section of Calgary. The area also contains numerous restaurants and strip malls.
