Richview Real Estate Overview

Surrounding communities might be of interest as well:

The area between Royal York Road and Islington Avenue is sometimes referred to as "Royal York Gardens," and the area between Islington Avenue and Kipling Avenue is referred to as "Richmond Gardens." The two pockets are a part of the greater Richview community. Richview also encompasses the former post office 'Richview,' which was merged into the then borough of Etobicoke. The neighbourhood Richview is named after the post office, which opened in 1852.

There are no large commercial spaces in Richview. Three strip malls are located at the intersections of the main streets, 1500 Royal York Road Plaza, Richview Square, and Westway Centre. There are several excellent schools and educational institutes located in and around the neighbourhood. There are thirteen schools in the region, of which five are public elementary schools, and three are high schools. Hilltop Middle School, Princess Margret Junior School, Kipling Collegiate Institute, Richview Collegiate Institute, and Scarlett eights Entrepreneurial Academy are some of the sought-after educational institutions in the community.

The area provides excellent transportation service. The neighbourhood is accessible by 52 Lawrence Ave West, 73 (A, B & C) Royal York TTC buses. The TTC busses connect to subway stops on the Yonge line as well as the Danforth subway line. As for motorists, there are three main highways, namely Highway 401, Highway 427, and Highway 409, that are easily accessible. Along the southern boundary is Eglinton Avenue West, a major six-lane arterial roadway, and the North-south roads include Martin Grove Road, Kipling Avenue, Martin Grove Road, and Royal York Road. Last but not least, for frequent travellers, Pearson airport is less than 15 minutes away by car.

Who Lives In Richview Homes?

Richview is a family-oriented suburb. The neighbourhood is predominantly upper-middle-class, but it is a diverse community with people belonging to a wide range of income and cultural backgrounds as well. Presently, many Richview expats are returning to raise their kids. Though a majority of the residents speak English, the other languages spoken here include Italian, Spanish, and Polish.

Richview Homes Are Perfect For

There are several educational institutions in the neighbourhood, as well as several parks. The community mainly consists of detached homes with deep lots, which make this a perfect place for young families. The tree-lined streets and cul-de-sacs pattern make it a safe place for children to play.

Richview Homes Are Not So Perfect For

A very suburban feeling permeates the Richview neighbourhood. The urban addicts may find it challenging to adapt to the lifestyle and may not find it a pleasant place to live. The area is also not perfect for those who enjoy a busy nightlife, as Richview is a peaceful and family-friendly community.

Life And Style, Amenities And Things To Do In Richview

Richview is a family-friendly community with tree-lined streets where children can play. The streets are lined with towering trees, and lush lawns surround the houses. There are various small neighbourhoods within Richview, such as the Westway, also known as St. Phillip's, and Willowridge, but the community life continues to be suburban.

There are about twenty green spaces for the residents to take advantage of. Richview Park, Valleyfield, Silver Creek and Sun Row Parks, West Grove, and Martingrove Gardens are some of the recreational facilities that are available for the residents of the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood also has a library, The Richview Public Library, that the residents of the community can visit.

There are no super trendy restaurants in the neighbourhood or haute couture outlets. Residents mostly visit nearby communities for a fancy dinner or trendy shopping. But this lack of restaurants and shopping complexes does not pose as a disadvantage, as other areas of the city are easy to reach.

Richview Real Estate Market

There are plenty of homes for sale in Richview perfect for families. There are two heritage houses still standing in the neighbourhood, reflecting traces of Richview's pastoral heritage. Though the area lacks commercial space, the organized and geometrically structured street pattern and accessibility to major arterial roads make up for it. Residents can drive to the nearby shopping plazas or take the bus. The neighbourhood is a convenient location for many as there are several good schools within proximity, as well as proximity to major roads that makes going around easy. These benefits make Richview a sought-after neighbourhood in Toronto.

Richview is undergoing quite a bit of development at present, and the neighbourhood has seen a boom in the real estate market. It has become a popular destination for people to move-in to, especially for those looking to move outside of the downtown core. Most homes for sale are sold within a week or two of being listed due to increasing demand in the area.
