Parks —
Beltline is home to some of Calgary's memorials and historical parks. Residents use the parks to spend time outdoors with their families, take a long walk, learn more about the community's rich history, or use the parks' recreational facilities.
Beaulieu Gardens is an important cultural landmark and a beautiful park with extravagant patterns of spectacular roses. These are formal terraced gardens of the historic Lougheed House, dating back to 1891. The house belonged to Sir James Lougheed and is now an Alberta museum. Volunteer gardens grow a wide variety of vegetables and fruits here as well.
Central Memorial Park is a tranquil oasis and Calgary's oldest park right in the center of the community and the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing picnic amid walking paths, flowerbeds, and fountains. The park boasts of a statue erected in 1924 by the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire to honour the World War I soldiers. The park also has a trail for walkers and cyclists.

Demographics
According to the Census of Canada Snapshot of 2016, 13,475 families lived in Beltline that same year. Of the 13,466 individuals living in the community, 88% were between 15 and 64 years. About 6% of the population were between 65 and 84 years old, and 4% were between 0 and 14 years old. A whopping 65% of houses in the area are rented out, while their owners occupy the rest.
Housing
Almost all of Beltline is made up of apartments. A little over 80% of the apartments are five storeys or more. There are about 200 row houses in the neighbourhood as well. Most of the Beltline dwellings were built after 1961, although you will find some dating back before 1960.
Developer/builder/history
The name Beltline originated from the city's municipal railway route No. 5 – the belt line. The early 20th century No. 5 trolley circled what is today's neighbourhood of Beltline.
Despite the redevelopment and modernization of the neighbourhood, Beltline has strong ties with its past. Several buildings throughout its 12-decade history, including churches, warehouses, private homes, rooming houses, and schools, still stand today.
