Golf —

Glamorgan’s Golf lovers have easy access (less than a 10-minute drive) to Calgary Golf and Country Club and Earl Grey Golf Club, two of Calgary’s premium golfing destinations. Lakeview Golf Course is a public nine-hole golf club less than a 10-minute drive away. All three courses are accessible via Glenmore Trail.

Glamorgan Park has two playgrounds for toddlers and young children, a sports field, and six ball diamonds.

Grafton Park is a lush green park and a fantastic area for families. Kick back and relax, get together with friends, sunbathe, play with their children, or lay back and read a book. There is a playground, sports fields, basketball court, ball diamonds, rinks, and a fitness room.

Galbraith Park on the community’s northeast boundary and Glamorgan Crescent SW playground on Glamorgan Cres SW are fully equipped with fun and safe playground equipment like slides, swings, and merry-go-rounds for younger children. Glenbrook neighbourhood playground on 39 Avenue SW has two playgrounds and a trail. Gladstone Park Playground is excellent and close to those living near the northwest part of the community.

London Place West is a shopping mall at the northwestern border of the community, housing a wide variety of services, including clinics, pharmacies, restaurants, banks, and over 28 brand name stores.

Demographics

According to a 2016 Census of Canada snapshot, 6,195 people lived in a little less than 3,000 dwellings in Glamorgan that year. That makes the average household size 2.2. Most families with children have their children living with them. While the largest population is adults between 15 and 64 years, there is a considerably large (15%) population of 0 to 14-year-olds and 65 to 84-year-olds. A little over 60% of the dwellings are occupied by their owners, while the rest are rented out.
