The community of Edgemont is a direct extension of Nose Hill Park, making it the most significant amenity and landmark of the area.
The city's Nose Hill Natural Environment Park is flanked by 12 residential neighbourhoods in the northwest corner. The park was established in 1980 and spans 11 square kilometres. The hill's name comes from the fact that it resembles a nose from certain angles and with some imagination.
