Currie Barracks has grown from less than 800 people in 2016 to just over 1,100 today. Over 70% of the people are aged between 15 and 64 years. The community has a large population of children (21%) aged between 0 and 14 years. There are a little less than 300 private households in the community.

Developer/builder/history
Currie Barracks (CFB Calgary) was set up after World War I and named after the recently deceased General Sir Arthur William Currie, Commander, Canadian Expeditionary Force, Western Front. During World War II, the area served as an army training centre. CFB Calgary was closed in 1998 and offered the city a rare opportunity to experience a comprehensive redevelopment and land use planning strategy.
The upscale south Calgary community of Currie Barracks is master-planned by Canada Lands Co.
